Committees

The more members that are involved with our Chamber, the stronger its voice becomes in the community. Likewise, the success of the Chamber is strongly affected by the involvement of its membership. An assortment of committees and task forces meets regularly to advance the organization's program of work. Participating on one of the Chamber's many committees or task forces will help ensure the success of these programs, as well as promote personal growth in the community. There is a committee that meets the interests and talents of nearly everyone. Our committees are as follows:

AMBASSADORS (Meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month at noon in the Chamber boardroom.)

Purpose:
• As a public relations welcoming group, representatives greet new members, assist in new member orientations and promote membership retention.
• To provide feedback to the Chamber Board of Directors regarding the needs and issues of concern to members.
• To promote members doing business with fellow members.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - Issue Oriented - meets on an as-needed basis.

Purpose:
• To monitor the business climate and promote economic development in Greater West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County.

GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS - Issue Oriented - meets on an as-needed basis.

Purpose:
• To communicate, through the members of the Governmental Affairs Committee, proposed area, state and federal legislation impacting the business community.
• To recommend, if required, coalitions of support through other chambers or the county-wide business alliance for those issues which may have dramatic impact on the local business community.
• To accumulate information relative to candidates for the Palm Beach County Commission and West Palm Beach City Commission, and convey it to members, along with recommendations for candidate selection in the city and county elections.

HEALTHCARE - Meets at a different health care focused location each month

Purpose:
• To improve public awareness and access to the healthcare resources available in Palm Beach County.
• To involve all healthcare providers, purchasers and payers as active members of the Chamber.
• To educate the Chamber members, community and the media on important healthcare issues.

WOMEN IN BUSINESS - Meets the 2nd Thursday of the month at 11:45 a.m. in the Chamber boardroom and is open to members of the Chamber. Attendees can bring their own lunch, or the Chamber can order lunch for you in advance.

Purpose:
• To encourage women to expand their business contacts/opportunities by becoming active participants in the Chamber.
• Monthly meetings feature a guest speaker that addresses issues in the workplace, community or educational growth and enrichment

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS OF THE PALM BEACHES - Meets based on events
