Our New Board Chair: James Johnson
We are proud to introduce James Johnson as our new Chair of the Board. James Johnson serves as Shareholder and Director of Investment Operations at Blue Ocean Capital, where he leads the firm’s daily investment operations with a client-first philosophy. With over 20 years of experience in wealth management and public accounting, he specializes in guiding high-net-worth individuals and families through the complex landscape of portfolio management, family office services and financial planning.
Jimmy’s role at Blue Ocean Capital is built on a foundation of both technical expertise and relational trust. His professional certifications including CPA, CFP® and CFS®, have shaped him into a well-rounded advisor, portfolio manager and family office executive. His goal is to ensure clients feel empowered, understood, supported and valued.
Prior to joining Blue Ocean Capital, Jimmy was with Nowlen, Holt & Miner, P.A., in West Palm Beach. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Applied Finance from Palm Beach Atlantic University.
A dedicated member of the community, Jimmy is Chair-Elect, Trustee and Board Member of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches. At the heart of Jimmy’s work is a commitment to building trust through sincere, honest and empathetic communication. He believes this is the key to forging long-term relationships and delivering value that extends beyond financial returns. One of his proudest career milestones has been the depth of relationships he’s cultivated with clients, colleagues and community partners.
Jimmy finds Blue Ocean Capital a uniquely special place to work, where clients and team members are treated like family. “We are a family serving families,” he shares.
